It's a wonder, there's so many things
That bring tears to my eyes.
Like just today I realized
How far and high I fly with just
A thought,
A dream,
A waning fantasy, how easy
It's come to be
A needed part of me.
I looked up to the clouds and asked them
Why loved ones must die
Suddenly the Moon peeked through
And all it said was "Trust in God" and--
I, my
Mother's youngest child, I
See the clouds below me, see the
Sunny sky, and I, thee
Blooming rose dismantled,
Know that what I've left behind
Is not the million tears I've cried
But God is sitting by her side
So I can truly know,
No matter where I go, I know
That we'll be fine, and everything
Is handled.

A day after finding out my mom will die in three or less months I was sent away from my immediate family to live with my godmother in Cali. I wrote this on the plane ride there.
